Hospital is seeking a strong Cardio Thoracic surgeon to provide part time locum support with regular consistency to provide at least one week per month.

Privileges available: Full Privileges

Accepted Credentials: Physician (MD/DO)

Board level: Board Certification: Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery (ABTS)

Boards: Thoracic Surgery

Certifications: BLS, ATLS, ACLS

Schedule is Monday to Monday- Firm

Skills/Procedures: All aspects of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, including CABG, valve surgery, thoracic aorta, and pulmonary resections. Vascular procedures related to cardiothoracic practice preferred but not required. Please indicate which the locum can perform on the Heart and Lung Surgery required.

Other facility info notes: Provides a full range of inpatient, surgical, and specialty services, including a high-volume cardiovascular and thoracic surgery program, advanced ICU capabilities, and comprehensive ancillary support. Hospital is a 383-bed acute care hospital with a busy and well-established Cardiothoracic Surgery program. Our inpatient census typically ranges between 25–40 patients, occasionally reaching up to 50. Each surgeon averages 2–4 cases per day on the OR schedule, Monday through Friday. The program is supported by a robust team of six Physician Assistants who first assist in surgery and share call responsibilities mirroring the surgeon’s schedule. PAs and APRNs manage hospital rounds and consults, while three additional APRNs staff the clinic Monday through Thursday, ensuring comprehensive inpatient and outpatient coverage.
