Cardiothoracic Surgery Locums in Illinois - 1-2 Weekends Monthly
Pick up weekend cardiothoracic surgery shifts in Illinois; great option to maintain skills with low commitment.
Highlights
- Only 1-2 weekends per month; you choose
- Ongoing need starting April 2026

Practice Setting
- Inpatient hospital setting
- Daily census around 7 patients
- CVU team supports rounding and patient questions
- 3 admissions per shift on average
Schedule
- Friday 10am to Monday 5am
- Weekend call only, 30-minute response time
- No long-term commitment
Cases and Procedures
- CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting); case log required
- Post-op cardiothoracic management
- Referrals from Cardiology
- AM rounding and as-needed visits for changes in condition
Requirements
- Board Certified in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery
- Active Illinois license
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, DEA
- Clean background required
Credentialing
- 120 days for full privileges
- Temporary privileges available
