Step into a high-acuity thoracic surgery role in beautiful Richmond, VA! 🌇 Provide expert 24-hour inpatient coverage with full OR, ICU, and hospitalist support. A great opportunity for a skilled surgeon looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying flexible locum scheduling. 💼💙
Job Responsibilities
• 🩺 24-hour thoracic surgery call coverage
• 🫁 Perform advanced procedures:
• Bronchoscopy
• Navigational Bronchoscopy
• VATS & Robotic Thoracic Surgery 🤖
• EBUS & EUS
• Lobectomy, Segmentectomy, Pneumonectomy
• Thoracotomy, Decortication
• Tracheostomy, Pericardial Window
• 🧪 Manage complex thoracic conditions (lung cancer, esophageal disease, pleural issues, diaphragm disorders & more)
• 🤝 Work closely with OR, ICU & hospitalist teams
• 🚨 Handle emergency thoracic consults as needed
Qualifications
• ✔️ Board Certified Thoracic Surgeon
• ✔️ Active VA License (mandatory)
• ✔️ BLS & ACLS
• ✔️ Must be local (mileage only reimbursed)
• ✔️ Skilled in minimally invasive & robotic thoracic procedures
Working Hours
🕒 24-hour call shifts: 7 AM – 7 AM
