Hospital of Richmond is seeking a Locum thoracic Physician. An excellent opportunity to join a respected facility and make an immediate impact!

Current open dates (Additional dates beyond February to follow once schedules are finalized):

• January 16 starting at 5:00 p.m. – January 19 ending at 7:00 a.m.
• February 6 starting at 5:00 p.m. – February 9 ending at 7:00 a.m.

Job Details:

  • Dates of Coverage: multiple dates 2026
  • Reason for Coverage: back up thoracic team: currently have 2 providers
  • Practice Setting: Hospital based: acute care mostly
  • Call Schedule: TBD
  • Call Ratio: As needed
  • Average Number of Cases Per Day: 2-3
  • Trauma Level/Designation: N/A
  • Annual ER Volume: unknown
  • Number of Operating Rooms: 21
  • Hemodialysis Access: Yes
  • Documentation System/EMR: EPIC
  • Description of Ancillary Staff: OR support, ICU support, Hospitalist
  • Patient Age Demographic: Adult and Geriatric

Procedures Required:

Bronchoscopy, Robot-Assisted Thoracic Surgery, Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS), Navigational Bronchoscopy, Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Tube Thoracostomy, Tracheostomy, Pericardial Window, Thoracic aortic aneurysms, Mediastinoscopy, Segmentectomy, Lobectomy, Bilobectomy, Pneumonectomy, Thoracotomy, Decortication

Additional Procedures Required or Preferred: *Additional areas of care:

Achalasia / Advanced Lung Disease (COPD and Pulmonary Fibrosis)
Anti-Reflux Surgery / GERD
Barrett’s Esophagitis /Chest Wall Tumors and Reconstruction
Diaphragm Plication / Diaphragmatic Hernias
Dysphagia / Esophageal Cancer
Lung Cancer / Lung Nodules
Mediastinal Masses / Mesothelioma
Pleural Effusion / Pneumothorax
Rib Fractures and Plating
Thoracic Outlet Syndrome / Thymomas
Tracheal Stenosis / Tracheostomy

Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 120 days
