Seeking a board-certified Thoracic Surgeon to provide 24-hour call coverage at a well-established hospital in Richmond, VA. Provider will support the thoracic surgery team with inpatient, surgical, and emergent cases. Local physicians only.
Job Responsibilities
Perform thoracic surgical procedures including VATS, bronchoscopy, EBUS, and lung resections
Manage inpatient consults and acute thoracic conditions
Collaborate with OR staff, ICU, and hospitalist teams
Document all encounters in EPIC EMR
Qualifications
Active Virginia Medical License (Required)
BLS & ACLS Certifications (Required)
Local provider – mileage reimbursement only (Required)
Ability to cover full 24-hour call shifts
Working Hours
Multiple dates available throughout 2026
Call schedule varies based on facility need
Skills
Proficiency in VATS, robotic-assisted thoracic procedures, EBUS/EUS
Strong clinical decision-making
Ability to manage complex thoracic emergencies
Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams
