Thoracic Surgery Opening in Columbus, OH Seeking a Thoracic Surgeon to help develop and expand a growing thoracic surgery program. This full-time, hospital-employed role offers the chance to build a high-impact service line supported by strong referral networks, advanced surgical technology, and a collaborative, patient-focused team. Overview * Setting: Inpatient, outpatient, and clinic responsibilities * Schedule: Monday–Friday; 1:4 weekend call rotation * Type of Cases: All aspects of general thoracic surgery (benign and malignant); no transplant * Facility Level: Level II Trauma Center * Technology & Support: DaVinci Xi robotic platform, Multidisciplinary Tumor Board, 18 pulmonary/critical care physicians, Dedicated APP support, Consultative hospital service, Strong referral base from medical group, ACO, and community Leadership Available if Desired * Medical Director potential for qualified candidates with the experience, vision, and drive to grow and lead a thoracic surgery program * Ideal for candidates looking to shape the future of thoracic surgical care in a supportive and expanding health system Candidate Requirements * Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery (within 2 years of eligibility; BC strongly preferred) * Training: Fellowship-trained in Thoracic Surgery * Licensure: Ohio medical license (or willingness to obtain) * ACLS (or willing to obtain) * DEA (or able to obtain) * Clean malpractice and license history * COVID-19 vaccination required (unless exempt) * Must live within a 1-hour commuting distance * Not open to alternate or flexible shift arrangements Compensation & Benefits * Competitive salary (based on experience and training; discussed during interview) * Signing bonus (negotiable) * Relocation assistance (if applicable) * Paid Time Off: 27 days PTO, 7 paid holidays, and 5 days for CME * Health & Wellness Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, Prescription drug coverage, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), Employee and dependent life insurance, Short- and long-term disability coverage, Health and well-being programs, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) * Financial & Professional Support: Retirement savings (403(b)/401(k)) with employer match and contributions, Tuition reimbursement, Professional development programs, and Student loan relief services This is a unique and exciting role to build a thoracic surgery program from the ground up within a supportive, high-volume health system.
