Position Overview
NURSES Etc STAFFING is seeking a qualified Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (CTPA) to provide services at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. This role involves working closely with surgical teams and assisting in operating room procedures.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as first or second surgical assistant in the operating room
-
Assist with opening and closing incisions for cardiothoracic procedures

Harvest veins for bypass surgeries

Perform other duties as directed within the scope of practice
Qualifications
-
Active, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in any U.S. state
-
Board Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
-
Minimum of 1 year of recent experience (within the last 2 years) as a first or second surgical assistant in cardiothoracic surgery
-
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or an AHA-recognized organization
Work Schedule
-
Tuesdays: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Wednesdays: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (every third Wednesday replaced with Monday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM)

Thursdays: 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Flexibility required for surgical cases that may extend beyond scheduled hours

No services required on federal holidays unless otherwise specified
