🚨 Plastic Surgeon (Hand & Trauma Call) Needed | Level I Trauma Center | Lansing, Michigan Locum Role | All Expenses Covered

We are seeking a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon for an exciting locum opportunity in Michigan at an ACS Verified Level I Trauma Center. This role focuses on hand and trauma coverage with a supportive clinical environment and travel reimbursement provided.

📅 Assignment Details

• Start Date: ASAP

• End Date: December 2026

• Coverage Needed: ~19 days per month

• Shift Schedule: 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

• Call Ratio: Negotiable

🏥 Practice Setting

• 24-hour Trauma Call Coverage

• ACS Verified Level I Trauma Center

• Annual ER Volume: ~90,000 patients

• Patient Population: Ages 15+ (adolescent to geriatric)

👨‍⚕️ Current Team

• 1 Plastic Surgeon (Hand coverage)

• 1 Community Plastic Surgeon

• 2 Hospital-employed Orthopedic Hand Surgeons

📊 Case Volume

• Average: ~1 surgical case per month

• Summer months: ~3 cases per month

🩺 Required Clinical Procedures

• Hand-related procedures

• Traumatic hand reconstruction

• Facial laceration repair

• Scar revisions

• Skin grafts and flaps

• Minor burn care

🏥 Clinic Responsibilities

• In-person response when procedures are required

• Trauma Clinic: Tuesdays, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  

✈️ Travel & Expenses Covered

The facility will reimburse:

• Flight

• Hotel

• Mileage or car rental

Orientation rate: Paid at ½ of the hourly rate

✅ Requirements

• Board Certified in Plastic Surgery (must be boarded within 5 years of training – no BE accepted)

• Active Michigan Medical License (FULL license required – no IMLC or “willing to obtain”)

• Self-Query NPDB (pulled within the last month at time of presentation)

• BLS & ACLS – Highly preferred
