Plastic Surgery Physician needed in Iowa

A Medical Center in Iowa is seeking a full-time Plastic Surgeon to provide comprehensive surgical care, including trauma call, ER consults, in-office procedures, and reconstructive work. This is a busy, full-time clinical role with a mix of operative and clinic responsibilities and strong support resources. Candidates must be board certified, experienced, and fully credentialable with an Iowa or IMLC license.

Schedule

• Status: Full-time

• Patient Contact Hours: 36 hours/week

• Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM

• Clinic Days: Monday–Friday

• Procedure/OR Days: 2–4 per week

• Shifts: M–F with call rotation

• On Call: Soft tissue call plus clinic call/EMTALA

• Inpatient Responsibility: Yes

• Telehealth: No

• Team: 1 physician, 1 APP (no APP supervision required)

• Nursing Support: 1:1 ratio

• Ancillary Staff: 0.5:1

• Medical Imaging, Lab, Pharmacy: Available

• Clinic Volume: 16+ visits/day depending on case type

• Appointment Length: 15–30 minutes

• Patient Population: Surgical and cosmetic patients of all ages

• EMR: Epic

• Teaching Opportunities: Available

• Primary Responsibilities:

  • Trauma call

  • ER consults

  • In-office consults & procedures

  • Reconstructive collaboration with breast surgeons

Travel & Billing Notes

• Malpractice must be included in submitted bill rates

• Specific billing categories required (orientation, call, call back, holidays, conversion fee, etc.)

• Travel caps:

  • Flights: up to $750 round trip

  • Lodging: up to 1.5× GSA rate

  • Rental car: $55/day cap

  • Mileage: IRS standard rate

• No reimbursement for credentialing or application fees
