Job description
Medical Center in Virginia, is seeking a board-certified Plastic Surgeon with fellowship training in hand surgery or microsurgery. This position involves adult microsurgical and hand OR cases, as well as some pediatric hand cases. The department is part of a Level 1 trauma center with an experienced OR support team and uses Epic for documentation.
Job Responsibilities
Provide on-call coverage (2-3 calls per week, 24h call, come in as needed).
Collaborate with the OR team and other hospital staff to deliver high-quality care.
Treat adult and pediatric patients requiring hand surgery and adult patients requiring microsurgery.
Qualifications
Fellowship in hand surgery or microsurgery required.
Active VA medical license required; DEA registration required.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience post-fellowship.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
Working Hours
Call coverage 24h as needed (2-3 calls per week).
Start date: 11/3/2025.
Skills
Hand surgery proficiency in adults and pediatrics.
Strong collaboration and OR teamwork skills.
Ability to manage high-acuity cases in a Level 1 trauma setting.
