Burn Surgeon – Locum Tenens
Location: San Francisco, CA
Start Date: November 3, 2025
Duration: 6 months, with option to extend
On-Call: Yes – 24-hour call shifts
Schedule:
- 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
- Includes 6–8 hours on-site (clinic, rounding, consults, admissions)
- Additional 8-hour clinical shifts (clinic, inpatient, surgeries)
- Approx. 30–35 shifts/month
- 1 week/month availability preferred, flexible
Practice Setting:
- Inpatient burn unit
- Outpatient burn clinic
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Burn surgery and acute inpatient management
- Wound care in outpatient clinic
- Inpatient rounding, consults, and admissions
- Collaborative care with NPs and hospital staff
Facility Details:
- 15-bed burn unit
- EMR: Cerner
- Teaching hospital & Level I trauma center
- Support:
- 2 burn surgeons on-site
- Dedicated NP in outpatient clinic
- Full inpatient hospital support
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Surgery
- Fellowship-trained in Burn Surgery (Required)
- CA license preferred (IMLC and pending CA licensure candidates considered)
- DEA license required
- Inpatient burn surgery experience (new grads with fellowship considered)
Credentialing Timeline:
60–90 days
