A healthcare facility in Arizona is seeking a Board-Certified Breast Surgeon for a 6-month locum tenens assignment beginning April 1. This role focuses exclusively on breast oncology and benign breast disease, with no cosmetic procedures required.

Position Highlights

• Start Date: April 1 or as soon as licensed and credentialed

• Contract Length: 6 months

• Schedule: Ideally 2–3 clinic days and 1 OR day per week

• Alternative Option: Two 1-week blocks per month

• No call requirements

• EMR: Epic

Practice Details

• Collaborative team with strong support staff including 1 PA, 1 NP, and 1 MA

• Clinic volume: 30–40 patients per week

• OR volume: 5–7 cases per week

• Majority of patients are Medicare beneficiaries (approximately two-thirds)

• Providers must be Medicare enrolled

Procedures Include

• Mastectomy

• Lumpectomy

• Breast excisional biopsy

• Breast incision and drainage

• Sentinel lymph node biopsy

• Targeted axillary lymph node dissection

• Axillary lymph node dissection

Requirements

• Board Certified in Surgery (within the last 5 years)

• Minimum 2 years of recent breast surgery experience

• Completed residency and verifiable board status

• Active Arizona license preferred (IMLC accepted)

• Clean professional record with full disclosure of any malpractice or disciplinary actions

• Up-to-date CV with all employment gaps explained

Credentialing Timeline

• AZ Licensed: ~6 weeks

• IMLC: ~2 months

• Not AZ licensed: ~3 months (credentialing can begin while license is in process)
