Med Ninjas is seeking a Neurosurgeon for long term locum tenens coverage at a inpatient facility in Petoskey, Michigan
The Physician must be available for the complete coverage block from October 1, 2026 to ongoing

Locum Tenens Neurosurgeon
Position Type: Locum Tenens

Shift: 24-hour call coverage with rounding and admits
Start Date: October 1, 2026
End Date: Ongoing

Position Details: Hospital-based neurosurgery coverage including 24-hour call, emergent call, emergent surgeries, inpatient rounding, and admissions. Approximately 14 days of call coverage per month. Current open blocks include October 2–6, 2026 and October 29–November 6, 2026.
Patient Population: Inpatient; approximately 5–10 inpatients per day
Setting: Hospital-based Neurosurgery
Responsibilities: 24-hour call coverage, emergent surgeries, inpatient rounding, admissions, and management of neurosurgical patients. Provider must perform both spinal and cranial neurosurgery.
Required Procedures: Both spinal and cranial neurosurgery
EMR System: Cerner
Support Staff: 1 Neurosurgeon, 1 Ortho-spinal surgeon, and Neurosurgery APPs
Days Per Month: Approximately 14 days per month of call coverage
On-Call/Weekends: 24-hour call; weekend call coverage required

Submission Requirements:

• Board Certified Neurosurgeon - no BE
• Active Michigan license; IMLC accepted if provider has a 100% clean background
• ACLS required
• Must perform both spinal and cranial neurosurgery; clean background with no actions and
• NPDB self-query pulled within the last month
