Credentialing Timeframe: ~60 Days
Position Highlights & Requirements
We are seeking a Board Certified Neurosurgeon for ongoing monthly coverage (5–7 days per month, ideally in 5-day blocks) in Florida. The role spans outpatient clinic visits, operating room cases, and Level II trauma call coverage.
- Licensure: Active Florida (FL) State Medical License or active IMLC required.
- Certifications: Board Certified (BC) in Neurological Surgery, active ALS (ACLS), PALS, and BLS.
- EHR System: Cerner.
- Facility Level: Level II Trauma Center.
- Patient Hand-off: Structured sign-out/hand-off process to incoming physicians required.
Clinical Scope & Responsibilities
- Operative & Emergency Scope: Manage emergency and urgent surgical cases. Non-emergent cases are routed to employed health system surgeons.
- Outpatient & After-Hours Care: Clinic consultations and handling phone calls for outpatient surgical cases starting at 5:00 PM.
- Trauma & ER Call Protocol: Promptly address transfer center calls and emergency room consults. Initial treatment plan must be documented in the chart within 30 minutes.
