Neurosurgery Locum Opportunity – Carbondale, IL
Location: Carbondale, Illinois
Facility: Level II Trauma Center
Start Date: August 25, 2026 (ASAP Credentialing)
Position Details
- 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
- 30-minute response time required
- Hospital and clinic coverage
- One additional neurosurgeon provides support
- Estimated surgical volume: 0–3 cases per day
Case Mix
- Bread-and-butter neurosurgery
- Cranial surgery
- Spine surgery
- Trauma and emergency neurosurgical cases
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurosurgeon
- Active Illinois medical license
- Active DEA
- Clean malpractice and credentialing history (required)
- Minimum of 10 cranial cases performed within the past 12 months
- Minimum of 50 spine cases performed within the past 12 months
- Residency-trained physicians accepted
Schedule Needed
- September 14–20
(All shifts conclude at 7:00 AM on the final day.)
Compensation
- Competitive 24-hour locum rate (travel assistance may be available depending on candidate and location).
