Job description
A Level I Trauma Center is seeking a Board Certified Neurosurgeon for Primary Call Coverage beginning March 2026, with ongoing coverage opportunities starting May/June 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for neurosurgeons experienced in trauma, spine, and complex inpatient neurosurgical care looking for ongoing locum coverage.
Schedule & Coverage

Initial Dates: March 16 (7a) โ March 20 (7a), 2026

Ongoing Coverage: Beginning May/June 2026 (dates TBD)

Call Schedule: 24-hour call (7aโ7a)
-
Includes 8 gratis hours per 24-hour call period

FTE: 1.0

Level I Trauma Center

Inpatient trauma coverage

Primary neurosurgery call coverage required

EMR: Epic
-
Reason for Coverage: Provider vacancies and scheduling gaps
Clinical Responsibilities
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in:
-
General Neurosurgery
-
Trauma & Spine procedures
-
Management of severe traumatic brain injury (TBI)
-
ICU patient management
-
Brain tumor cases
Required procedural experience includes:
-
External Ventricular Drain (EVD) placement
-
Intracranial pressure monitoring (bolt placement)
-
Craniectomy & craniotomy
-
Spine procedures
-
Critical care neurosurgical management
Recent Level I Trauma Center experience within the last year is required.
Credentialing
-
Estimated timeframe: 30โ120 days
-
Emergency temporary privileges available
-
Pre-application and full application must be completed within 72 hours of receipt
-
Self-Query NPDB report required at submission (dated within 30 days)
Requirements
-
Board Certified in Neurological Surgery (Required)
-
Active Colorado License or IMLC (LOQ at submission)
-
Active DEA (transferable)
-
ACLS & BLS (required for credentialing)
-
Clean malpractice/background strongly preferred
-
Must complete required EMR training prior to start
EMR Training Requirements
-
Epic modules must be completed prior to virtual training
-
Virtual EMR training required before first day onsite
-
Training must be completed at least one week prior to start date
Providers must also supply:

Years of Epic experience

Last Epic usage date & facility

Professional photo for badge
-
Preferred contact details for scheduling and communication
Travel & Lodging

Air travel permitted

Providers must stay within approved preferred lodging options

Travel preferences must be disclosed at submission
