Level I Trauma Locum Neurosurgery Call Coverage – Lakewood, CO

Are you a Board-Certified Neurosurgeon ready to take primary call at a busy Level I Trauma Center in Lakewood, Colorado? We are seeking an experienced physician for March 2026 coverage, with ongoing opportunities beginning May/June 2026.

This is a high-impact, high-reward opportunity offering comprehensive malpractice coverage, complimentary travel and lodging, and competitive, best-in-market pay rates (details discussed upon interest).

📅 Schedule

• March 16 (7a) – March 20 (7a), 2026

• Ongoing dates TBD starting May/June 2026

• 24-hour call shifts (7a–7a)

• 8 hours gratis included per 24-hour period

🏥 Practice Setting

• Inpatient Level I Trauma Center

• 24/7/365 primary call coverage

• FTE: 1.0

• EMR: Epic

• No dedicated support staff

• Coverage needed due to provider vacancies and coverage gaps

🔬 Required Clinical Expertise

Candidates must demonstrate recent (within last year) Level I Trauma Center experience and proficiency in:

• General Neurosurgery, Trauma & Spine

• EVD placement

• Intracranial pressure bolt placement

• CLEM

• Craniectomy & craniotomy

• Spine procedures

• ICU management of severe TBI patients

• Brain tumor management

• Independent rounding (no PAs for rounding)
  

• Emergency temporary privileges available

• Active Colorado License or IMLC (LOQ required at submission)

• Board Certified in Neurological Surgery

• NPDB Self-Query (dated within 30 days of presentation)

• Active ACLS, BLS

• Active DEA

• Clean malpractice/background highly preferred

• Confirm ability to perform all required procedures

• Disclose number of ongoing shifts available per month

• Acknowledge EMR training requirements

• Acknowledge preferred lodging requirement
