Job description
An established neurosurgery program in Pueblo, Colorado is seeking a Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible Neurosurgeon to join a collegial and high-demand practice. This is a replacement position serving an underserved community with only one existing neurosurgeon, offering strong case volume and the opportunity to build a robust elective spine practice.
The practice environment includes inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings with advanced neuro-navigation technology and strong APP support. This is a permanent position (no locums, no 1099). Visa sponsorship is not available.

Job Responsibilities
• Perform surgical procedures with dedicated OR time (2 days per week)
• Conduct clinic visits (average 8–12 patients per day plus PA-supported visits)
• Participate in ER call (approximately 7 days per month, primarily remote imaging review)
• Provide weekend call coverage approximately one weekend per month
• Collaborate with a team consisting of one Neurosurgeon and four experienced APPs
• Utilize advanced neuro-navigation tools including robotic-assisted technology
• Use EPIC EMR for documentation
Qualifications
• Active Colorado Medical License or ability to obtain
• DEA License (required prior to start)
• Clean malpractice history
• Recent NPDB Self-Query report (within 30 days at presentation)
• Must be seeking permanent employment
• Not accepting visa candidates
• Not accepting candidates commuting more than one hour
• Not accepting alternate schedule requests
• New graduates accepted through 2025 if meeting true board eligibility requirements
Working Hours
• 2 days clinic
• 2 days operating room
• 1 flex day
• ER call: ~7 days per month (primarily remote review)
• One weekend call per month (approximately)
