Position Overview:
We are seeking a Board-Certified Neurosurgeon to provide 24-hour call coverage (1 week/month, ongoing) with immediate coverage needed March 3โ10. This is a high-acuity Level I Trauma Center role focused on urgent and emergent adult neurosurgical cases presenting through the Emergency Department.
Assignment Details:
Practice Setting: Hospital-based
Coverage Dates: March 3โ10 (required for consideration)
Schedule: 24-hour call coverage (8 AM โ 8 AM)
Frequency: 1 week per month, ongoing
Average Emergent Surgical Cases: 1โ2 per day
Trauma Level: I
EMR: EPIC
Neurosurgery Team: 1 employed, 1 non-employed neurosurgeon
Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric (emergent cases through ED)
Neuro IR: In-house support available
Required Neurosurgery Procedures
Cranial / Trauma:
Brain bleed stoppage
Clot evacuation/removal
Tumor removal
Trauma repair
Shunt insertion and revision
Spine:
Spine stabilization and reconstruction
Vertebroplasty & kyphoplasty
Spinal fusion
Laminectomy
Diskectomy
Compensation
Requirements:
Board Certified in Neurosurgery
Active Ohio Medical License
Availability for March 3โ10 coverage
BLS & ACLS certifications
