Locum Neurosurgeon Opportunities in Michigan!

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a locum Neurosurgeon to provide adult neurosurgery and trauma coverage at a Level II Trauma Center. This role focuses on weekend and holiday call coverage, managing complex neurosurgical, spine, and critical care cases. Coverage is ongoing and supports an established neurosurgery team.

Dates / Schedule

• Start: ASAP

• Duration: Indefinite

• Schedule: Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM

• Coverage Type: 24-hour weekend and holiday call

• Call Requirement: 100% (continuous coverage during assignment)

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Provide adult neurosurgery and trauma care in a hospital-based setting

• Manage intracranial emergencies including brain bleed evaluation and management

• Perform spine surgeries such as spinal fusion, laminectomy, diskectomy, and vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty

• Provide neurosurgical trauma repair and perioperative care

• Manage critical care neurosurgical patients, including EVD placement/management and ICP/CPP monitoring

• Work collaboratively with a neurosurgery group of 2 full-time neurosurgeons plus locum support

• Trauma designation: Level II

• EMR system: Epic
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

Clinical Skills:

• Adult neurosurgery and trauma care

• Brain bleed management

• Spine surgery (fusion, laminectomy, diskectomy, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty)

• Critical care neurosurgical procedures (EVD management, ICP/CPP monitoring)

Licensure & Certification:

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurosurgery – Required

• Michigan medical license – Required

• BLS certification – Required

• Fellowship training in Neurosurgery – Preferred

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to cover 24-hour weekend and holiday call shifts

• Familiarity with Epic EMR – Required

• NPDB Self-Query dated within the last 30 days – Required at presentation

Credentialing & Travel:

• Credentialing timeframe: 90–120 days
