Job description
A hospital-based neurosurgical service is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Neurosurgeon for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity beginning June 1, 2026. This position provides high-acuity adult neurosurgery and trauma coverage at a Level II Trauma Center, focused on weekend call coverage.

Schedule: Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM

Call Requirement:

100% call coverage

24-hour weekend and holiday call

Coverage Duration: ASAP – Indefinite
This role includes adult neurosurgery and trauma care, including:
Neurosurgical & Trauma Procedures-
Brain bleed management
-
Trauma repair
-
Spine surgery, including:
-
Spinal fusion
-
Laminectomy
-
Diskectomy
-
Vertebroplasty / Kyphoplasty
-
-
External ventricular drain (EVD) management
-
ICP / CPP monitoring
-
Trauma Level: Level II
-
EMR System: Epic
-
Group Size:

2 neurosurgeons plus locum coverage

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurosurgery – Required

Active Michigan medical license – Required
-
BLS certification – Required
-
Ability to perform adult neurosurgery and trauma procedures – Required

Comfort managing critical care neurosurgical patients – Required
-
Familiarity with Epic EMR – Required
-
Availability for 24-hour weekend/holiday call – Required

Fellowship-trained in Neurosurgery – Preferred
