Job description
Call-only neurosurgery locums opportunity in Alabama. Start date in May with ongoing dates available. This inpatient-only assignment involves covering neurosurgical consults and trauma-related cases with a low daily patient volume. The physician will provide 24-hour beeper call coverage, manage phone consults and in-person evaluations, and round as needed. Support from onsite advanced practice providers is available. The facility is stroke certified. No clinic responsibilities. Temporary privileges can be obtained. EMR: MediTech. Travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage are provided.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage general neurosurgery and trauma-related consults.
• Conduct patient rounds as needed.
• Collaborate with onsite advanced practice providers.
• Respond promptly to beeper calls within defined response time.
• Ensure high-quality patient care within a stroke-certified facility.
Qualifications
• Board certified or board eligible in neurological surgery.
• Completion of neurosurgery fellowship training.
• Ability to obtain temporary hospital privileges.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
