Job description
Seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Neurosurgeon for locum coverage. The facility is a Level I Trauma Center and home to the facility, offering comprehensive neurosurgical care including trauma, spine, tumors, and advanced image-guided procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Perform ICP or EVD monitoring and placement.
Manage spinal trauma cases with instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar).
Handle pediatric emergent cranial trauma cases (preferred) including craniotomy/craniectomy.
Provide general neurosurgery care for adult and trauma patients.
Perform spinal surgery with/without instrumentation.
Place ICP monitors and manage neurosurgical emergencies.
Collaborate with neurosurgery APPs and residents for continuous patient care.
Qualifications
BLS & ACLS – Required
Active DEA license – Required
Active Ohio medical license (IMLC accepted or must obtain OH license) – Required
Availability for December coverage dates – Required
Working Hours
Includes 2 hours of morning rounding (approx. 8:00–10:00 AM).
2025: December 19–25 coverage.
2026: 1 week per month ongoing need.
Skills
Spinal Surgery with Instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar).
Spinal Surgery without Instrumentation.
ICP/EVD Monitoring & Placement.
Pediatric Neurosurgery – cranial trauma, craniotomy/craniectomy (preferred).
VP Shunt procedures (preferred).
