A permanent, full-time Neurosurgery opportunity is available in Pueblo, Colorado. The position is a replacement role due to high community demand, with only one existing neurosurgeon currently practicing. This is a general neurosurgery role with the opportunity to build a strong elective spine practice in an underserved community. The position offers a mix of inpatient, outpatient, and surgical responsibilities in a collegial team environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neurosurgical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform a mix of general neurosurgery and elective spine procedures.
• Cover 2 days in clinic, 2 days in the operating room, and 1 flex day weekly.
• Manage ER call (7 days/month) with imaging review from home and minimal in-person requirements; floor calls handled by PAs.
• Supervise and collaborate with a team of four APPs and clinical staff.
• Utilize advanced neurosurgical technologies, including Globus Robot and Stryker neuro-navigation systems.
• Document care through EPIC EMR.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or TRULY Board Eligible in Neurosurgery by the ABNS (within 5 years of eligibility, actively pursuing certification).
• Active Colorado medical license or ability to obtain.
• DEA (must be obtained prior to start).
• Clean malpractice history – Required.
• Not open to 1099, visa (J1/H1B), ABCNS-only certified, or long-distance commuting candidates.
• New graduates considered if Board Eligible within 5 years and progressing toward certification.

Working Hours

• Full-time schedule: 2 clinic days, 2 OR days, 1 flex day.
• ER call: 7 days per month (primarily remote image review).
• Weekend coverage: Approx. 1 weekend per month.

Skills

• Expertise in general neurosurgery and elective spine surgery.
• Strong ability to collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency with neurosurgical technologies (Globus Robot, Stryker navigation).
• Excellent clinical judgment with a focus on patient-centered care.
• Ability to work in a high-demand, underserved community.
