Neurosurgeon – 24-Hour Call – 1 Week/Month – Chesapeake, Virginia

Join a reputable, community-focused hospital in coastal Virginia offering a dynamic locums opportunity for an experienced Neurosurgeon. This facility has earned national recognition for patient safety, quality outcomes, and innovation—and is now seeking a skilled surgeon to assist with high-acuity emergency neurosurgical care.

Position Highlights:

• Call Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM

• Frequency: One week per month (max)
  

• Rate: Daily guarantee + Additional Hourly Callback

• Case Types: Emergent-only craniotomies and spine surgeries – no clinic, no electives

• Environment: High-functioning OR, potential APP support, collaborative surgical team

• EMR: EPIC

• Patient Population: Adult only

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery (BE within 5 years of fellowship acceptable)

• Virginia license & DEA (licensing support available)

• BLS/ACLS required

• Minimum 2 years of post-training experience

• Must be proficient in both craniotomies and spine procedures

• Clean professional background required

Credentialing: ~60 days with active VA license and DEA; ~90 days if new to state
