Position: Locum Tenens Neurosurgeon
Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Type: 24-hour Call Coverage
Schedule: One weekend per month (Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM)
Start Date: As soon as credentialed (60-90 days depending on licensure)

Job Responsibilities
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Neurosurgeon to provide emergent-only 24-hour call coverage in Chesapeake, VA. This opportunity includes managing bread-and-butter neurosurgical cases such as craniotomies and spine surgeries. No elective cases or clinic responsibilities.
Qualifications
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurosurgery (BE accepted within 5 years of fellowship)
Active VA medical license (or willing to obtain – licensing support available)
BLS/ACLS certification required
VA DEA required
Minimum 2 years of experience
Must have a clean background (dismissed cases are acceptable)
Comfortable functioning independently in high-acuity emergency scenarios
Working Hours
Call Frequency: One weekend per month
Shift Type: 24-hour call, Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM
Skills
Must be proficient and current in:
Craniotomies
Spine surgeries
Emergent case experience required
No clinic or elective procedures
