A top-tier facility in Des Moines, IA is seeking a BC/BE Neurosurgeon to cover 24-hour call shifts across three consecutive weeks this winter. This role offers a competitive $4,000 per 24-hour call, plus complimentary travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage.

Work alongside a dedicated Neuro-Ortho surgical team with APP support, state-of-the-art EPIC EMR, and access to a full suite of neurosurgical tools in a Level II trauma center handling a high-volume ER (65,000+ annually).

📅 Open Coverage Dates (Must cover ALL):

• Nov 24 @ 6 AM – Dec 1 @ 6 AM

• Dec 22 @ 6 AM – Dec 29 @ 6 AM

• Dec 29 @ 6 AM – Jan 5 @ 6 AM

🏥 Position Highlights:

• Call Only: 24-hour shifts (7–8 days at a time)

• Avg. Cases/Day: 1 surgical case

• Trauma Level: II

• EMR: EPIC

• Credentialing: ~90 days

• Team: 4 Neurosurgeons + dedicated APP for all cases

🛠️ Required Procedures:

• Cranial burr holes, hemorrhage control, tumor removal

• Shunt placements/revisions, EVD management

• Spine procedures: discectomy, laminectomy, spinal fusion

• Stereotactic radiosurgery, ICP/CPP monitoring

• Lumbar punctures, drains, TBI, neurocritical care

✅ Requirements:

• BC (ABNS) or BE

• IA License or IMLC

• BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, NALS or APLS – REQUIRED

• Must be experienced in adult trauma neurosurgery

• Must be comfortable with spinal/lumbar/thoracic instrumentation

• Clean malpractice history preferred

• Must be available for all dates listed
