Physician - Surgery - General Surgery in Kentucky

• Schedule: Call Only; Dates needed for 2026: 10/23 @ 7am, 10/26 @ 7am, 10/29 @ 7am, 11/2 @ 7am, 11/26 @ 7am, 11/30 @ 7am, 12/24 @ 7am, 1/3 @ 7am
• Job Setting: Inpatient; 99-bed department; Trauma Level 4 Facility
• Types of Cases:
  • General Surgery (Adult, Pediatric, Neonate, Trauma)
  • Laparoscopic Surgery: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Hernioplasty, Nissen Fundoplication
  • Head/Neck Surgery (including thyroid)
  • Chest Wall/Pleural Procedures
  • Breast Surgery
  • Obstetric & Gynecologic Surgery including Cesarean Section, D&C, Hysterectomy
  • Liver Surgery
  • GI Endoscopy: Upper, Lower (Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy)
  • Minor Orthopedics & Hand Surgery
  • Vascular Surgery: Aneurysm Repairs (Thoracic, Abdominal), Arterial Bypass (Peripheral), Vascular Access Devices, AV Shunt
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Ventilation Management, Chest Tube Insertion, Central Line Insertion, PA Catheter Placement
  • Laser Certification Required
  • Pediatric Surgery: Atresias (Esophageal, Intestinal, Biliary), Abdominal Wall Defects (Gastroschisis), Umbilical Defects (Hernia, Omphalocele), Diaphragmatic Hernia, Imperforate Anus, PDA Ligation
  • Additional Common Procedures: Bowel Resection, Emergency General Surgery Trauma, Perforations, I&D Abscesses, Wound Care
  • Patients per Shift: 10-15; Rounding: Assigned Patients
  • Call Type: Beeper; Call Response Time: 30 minutes; Call Back: 20%; Phone Consults: 10; Patients Seen: 10
  • EMR System: MediTech
  • Provider will be required to supervise Advanced Practice Providers (1 PA/NP on staff)
• Credentialing: Estimated credentialing timeframe: 30 days; Temporary privileges available

Minimum Requirements

• Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Licensure: Licensed in KY or IMLC
