Job description
We are seeking a Trauma/Acute Care Surgery (ACS) Physician to join a surgical program in Paducah, Kentucky. This is a full-time opportunity with a unique 26-weeks-per-year schedule, allowing for an excellent work-life balance while providing comprehensive trauma and acute care surgical services.
Position Highlights
- Employment: Full-Time
- Compensation: $435,000 annually
- Schedule: 26 weeks per year
- Block Schedule: 2 weeks on/2 weeks off preferred; longer or shorter blocks may be considered
- Daily Consults: Approximately 1–2
- Average Operations: Approximately 1 per day
- APP Support: None initially
- ED Annual Volume: Approximately 39,680 visits
- Projected Annual Consults: Approximately 492, with volume expected to increase
- Projected Annual Operations: Approximately 359, with volume expected to increase
Practice Opportunity
This is an opportunity to help establish and grow a developing Trauma/ACS surgical program. The selected physician will provide surgical consultation and operative management for trauma and acute care patients, working alongside an initial team of two surgeons.
The 26-week annual schedule provides substantial flexibility and allows physicians to enjoy extended periods away from the hospital while maintaining a full-time compensation structure.
Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery or a related surgical specialty
- Experience managing acute care and trauma surgical patients
- Comfortable providing independent surgical consultation and operative care
- Ability to work effectively in a developing surgical program
- Strong clinical and communication skills
- Willingness to participate in a flexible block schedule
