Opportunity Highlights
- Schedule: 10/9/2026 at 7:00 AM CST through 10/11/2026 at 7:00 AM CST (48-hour call coverage)
- Job Setting: Inpatient; 200-bed facility
- Types of Cases:
- Call coverage only - no clinic; covers inpatient consults and emergency room
- General Surgery (Adult required; Pediatric preferred)
- Trauma Surgery (Level 3 Trauma Center)
- Laparoscopic Surgery: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Hernioplasty, Nissen Fundoplication
- Chest wall/pleural procedures; Chest tube insertion
- Central line insertion
- Vascular Surgery: Vascular access devices required; Aneurysm repairs, Arterial bypass, Peripheral, AV shunt preferred
- GI Endoscopy (Upper & Lower, including Sigmoidoscopy and Colonoscopy) - preferred
- Liver surgery - preferred
- PA Catheter placement - preferred
- Laser certification - preferred
- Call Type: Beeper (30-minute response time required)
- Call Ratio: 1:6 | Call Back: 15% | Phone Consults: ~10/shift | Patients Seen: ~20/shift
- EMR: Cerner
- Credentialing: Estimated 30-day credentialing timeframe; temporary privileges available; malpractice insurance provided by vendor
Minimum Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified or Board Eligible required
- Certifications: ACLS required; BLS required
- Licensure: Must be licensed in Alabama or IMLC
