Job Details — Locum Tenens Orthopedic Job (Athens, Ohio)

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $7,340 - $7,870 (competitive locum tenens pay)
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Contract
• Location: On-site outpatient clinic / private practice — Athens, OH (zip code 45701)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Shifts: Day shifts – Tuesday and Thursday (possible Friday); 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Friday 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
• Coverage: 2–3 clinic days per week
• Patient Volume: 25–30 patients per day; age range 13–90+
• Support Team: MA, LPN, Athletic Trainer (AT), Clinical Lead, Front Desk Lead, Practice Manager
• EMR: Epic (experience preferred)

Ideal Candidate / Qualifications — Ohio Orthopedic Jobs

• Minimum 3 years clinical experience in orthopedic surgery or sports medicine
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon / Sports Medicine Physician (DO required)
• Active Ohio medical license required prior to start (Ohio locum tenens credentialing)
• Valid DEA license
• CAQSM (Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine) preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Strong procedural skills in joint injections, fracture care, and outpatient orthopedic management

Responsibilities — Orthopedic Surgeon / Sports Medicine Physician

• Evaluate and manage non-emergent acute fracture care and outpatient orthopedic injuries
• Perform cortisone (steroid) joint injections and Viscosupplementation injections
• Assess and treat acute and chronic orthopedic and sports medicine conditions (non-spine)
• Conduct large and small joint injections and aspirations
• Prescribe and manage medications for orthopedic patients, including post-procedure plans
• See new and established patients in an outpatient clinic setting
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
