TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon for locum tenens call coverage at a community hospital setting in North Carolina.
Position Details
Job Type: Locum Tenens
Specialty: General Surgery
Setting: Inpatient only
Coverage Type: Call (nights & weekends)
Not required to remain on-site while on call
Schedule
May 9 (7a) – May 13 (11a)
May 22 (11a) – May 25 (11a)
June 5 (11a) – June 8 (11a)
September 4 (11a) – September 7 (11a)
October 2 (11a) – October 5 (11a)
November 25 (11a) – November 30 (11a)
Practice Environment
Average 7–8 patients per day
Average 1–2 admissions per day and night
Approximately 50 surgical cases per month
No code response required
No ER backup responsibilities
EMR: Epic
ICU and emergency department support available
Air and ground transport available for higher-level care
Procedures
Appendectomy
Strangulated hernias
Cholecystectomy
Incision & drainage
Other emergent general surgery procedures
Requirements
Board Certified – General Surgery
Active North Carolina license (preferred)
Comfortable managing emergency surgical cases independently
