Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: Minimum 6 months (dependent on permanent recruitment)
Shift Type: 24-hour call coverage
Schedule: Flexible based on availability; up to 1 week at a time (primarily weekends)
Coverage Needed: ~0.5 FTE equivalent
Job Description:
We are seeking a Locum General Surgeon to provide in-house call coverage in Lebanon, PA. This role is focused on managing a wide range of general surgery cases in a hospital setting, with no outpatient clinic responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24-hour in-house call coverage
- Evaluate and manage surgical consults
- Perform emergency and general surgical procedures
- Deliver comprehensive care across a broad range of surgical conditions
- Document all patient encounters in EPIC
Job Responsibilities
Practice Setting: Hospital-based
Hospital Bed Size: 163 beds
Patient Population: Mixed/varied
EMR: EPIC
Support Staff: Not specified
Skills & Procedures:
Broad general surgery skill set required
Ability to manage a variety of acute surgical cases
Robotic experience preferred (not required)
Qualifications
Board Certification: Board Certified in General Surgery
Licensure: Active state license required
DEA: Required
Experience: Not specified, but must be clinically confident in full-scope general surgery
Credentialing: 60–120 days; temporary privileges available with clean file
Additional Information:
No outpatient clinic responsibilities
Flexible scheduling based on provider availability
