Job description Locums – Atlantic City, New Jersey | NP/PA Trauma Surgery Opportunity Clinical Role

Exciting opportunity for an experienced NP or PA to join a Level II Trauma Center providing hands-on care across trauma alerts, OR support, and inpatient management. This is a high-acuity, team-based role with 24/7 physician support—ideal for providers who thrive in fast-paced surgical environments.

Coverage: ASAP through October Shift Options: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Position Highlights:

  • No formal call required

  • Work alongside an in-house supervising physician at all times

  • Mix of trauma alerts, OR support, rounding, and inpatient care

  • Temporary assignment with consistent scheduling needs

  • Local providers required

Clinical Details & Responsibilities
  • Setting: Hospital-based Level II Trauma Center

  • Responsibilities include:

    • Trauma alerts and surgical consults

    • Admissions, rounding, and discharge planning

    • OR first assist/support for Trauma & Acute Care Surgery

    • ER admissions and participation in rapid response/house codes

Procedures & Skills Required:

  • Ventilation management (including BiPAP/CPAP)

  • Chest tube placement

  • Central line, arterial line, and PICC line insertion

  • Minor laceration suturing

Support & Supervision:

  • Supervising physician present in-house 24/7

  • APPs work in a collaborative model (no autonomous coverage)

Support & Technology:

  • EMR: Cerner (experience preferred)

Requirements
  • NP or PA (NP must have RNFA)

  • Active New Jersey license required (must be in hand)

  • BLS, ACLS, and ATLS or ATCN certifications required

  • Proven experience in trauma and acute care surgery required

  • Must be proficient in trauma alerts, OR support, inpatient rounding, and ER admissions

  • Experience with required procedures listed above

  • Must be local to the area

Credentialing Timeframe: ~30 days
