Job description
We are seeking a Locums Neurosurgery Physician to join a dedicated neurosurgical team in Rapid City, South Dakota. This full-time locums opportunity includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, providing an opportunity to work in a collaborative surgical environment managing complex cranial, spine, and trauma cases.
This role offers the chance to work closely with operating room staff, hospital teams, and neurosurgical specialists while delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
Compensation: $5000 Per Shift
Key Responsibilities
- Perform neurosurgical procedures including cranial, spine, and trauma cases
- Provide inpatient rounding, admissions, post-operative care, and discharges
- Conduct outpatient neurosurgery clinic visits and follow-up care
- Respond to emergency department and inpatient neurosurgical consults
- Collaborate with neurosurgeons, OR staff, and multidisciplinary hospital teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
- Active South Dakota medical license or ability to obtain
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience in neurosurgery, trauma, or surgical critical care strongly preferred
