Locum General Surgery Physician needed in Brattleboro Vermont

Locum Opportunity – General Surgeon | Brattleboro, Vermont

Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Surgeon (MD/DO) to join its collaborative surgical team in a community hospital setting. The role includes inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and wound care services.

Position Details

• Setting: Hospital-based with office/clinic

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Call: 1:4 rotation

• Average Cases: 1–3 surgical cases per day

• Trauma Designation: Level III

• Operating Rooms: 3 ORs + 1 procedure room

• EMR: Cerner

• Team: 2 General Surgeons currently in practice; adding an additional clinician

• OR Support: CRNAs, scrub techs, and circulating nurses

• Patient Population: Adolescent, adult, and geriatric

Procedures

• General surgical cases

• Chest wall/pleural procedures, chest tube insertion

• Abdominal vascular surgery

• Laparoscopic procedures (cholecystectomy, hernioplasty)

• GI endoscopy (upper, lower, colonoscopy)

Additional procedures for pediatric-trained surgeons:

• Umbilical defects (omphalocele, hernia)

• Imperforate anus

Credentialing

• Estimated 60–120 days

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery

• Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school

• Active Vermont medical license

• DEA (required prior to start)

• BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers

• Demonstrated surgical proficiency

• Clean malpractice history

• Recent NPDB self-query report (within 30 days)
