Locum - Surgery: General - MD/DO

Job Opportunity: Locum Physician - General Surgery

Join a dedicated team at a supportive community hospital in Brattleboro, Vermont! This facility offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient surgical services, ensuring high-quality care in a collaborative environment. The general surgical team is seeking a full-time Board Certified or Board Eligible MD/DO to contribute to their mission of providing excellent surgical care to the community.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform general surgical procedures including laparoscopic surgeries, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty.
• Provide wound care management and emergency surgical services.
• Work collaboratively within a team of surgeons and medical staff.
• Participate in on-call rotations (1:4 ratio).
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using Cerner EMR.
• Engage with a diverse patient demographic including adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
• Completion of a General Surgery Residency Program.
• MD or DO Degree from an accredited medical school.
• Active Vermont Medical License.
• DEA certification (must be obtained prior to start).
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Proficient in surgical techniques and procedures.
• Clean malpractice history.
• Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active).

License and Certification Requirements:

• Active Vermont Medical License
• BLS Certification
• Board Certification or Eligibility in General Surgery
