Job description
A community hospital in Vermont is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Surgeon (MD/DO) to join a collaborative surgical team providing inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and wound care services in a supportive hospital environment.
Position Details:

Hospital-based role (Clinic + OR)

Schedule: Monday โ Friday, 8:00 AM โ 5:00 PM

Call Ratio: 1:4
-
Average Surgical Cases: 1โ3 per day

Trauma Level: Level III
-
EMR: Cerner
-
Operating Rooms: 3 + Procedure Room
-
Support Staff: CRNA, experienced scrub techs, and circulating nurses
Patient Population:
Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric
Procedures Required:

General Surgical Cases
-
Chest Wall / Pleural Procedures
-
Chest Tube Insertion
-
Abdominal Vascular Procedures
-
Laparoscopic Surgery (Cholecystectomy, Hernia Repair)
-
GI Endoscopy (Upper, Lower, Colonoscopy)
Additional Procedures (for physicians with Pediatric Surgery training):

Umbilical Defects (Omphalocele, Hernia)

Imperforate Anus
Requirements:
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
-
Completion of an accredited General Surgery Residency
-
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
-
Active Vermont Medical License
-
DEA (required prior to start)
-
BLS / CPR Certification
-
Clean malpractice history
-
Recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days)

Credentialing timeframe: 60โ120 days
