Locum Neuro Surgery Physician Opportunity in Lakewood, CO

Summary: Join a leading healthcare facility in Lakewood, Colorado, known for its commitment to quality care as a Neuro Surgery Physician. Starting in March 2026, this role will focus on primary call coverage at a facility that is well-equipped for trauma care, with ongoing opportunities anticipated starting in May/June 2026.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage, with 8 hours of gratis time.
• Engage in general neurosurgery, trauma, and spinal procedures for a Level I Trauma facility.
• Perform necessary procedures, including EVD placement, intracranial pressure monitoring, craniectomies, and craniotomies.
• Manage ICU patients with severe traumatic brain injuries and brain tumors.
• Utilize an EMR system (Epic) for patient documentation.
• Coordinate with support staff and handle patient rounds in a non-supervised capacity.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Neurological Surgery (Required).
• Active Colorado Medical License or IMLC (LOQ in hand at the time of submission) (Required).
• ACLS and BLS certifications (Highly Preferred).
• Active DEA license available for transfer for urgent start dates (Highly Preferred).
• Experience in a Level I trauma center within the past year.
• Ability to perform all required procedures as outlined in the job description (Required).
• Clean malpractice and background history (Highly Preferred).
• Compliance with EMR training requirements to avoid delays in start dates (Required).

License and Certification Requirements:

• Board Certification in Neurological Surgery - Required.
• Active CO License or IMLC - Required.
• Active ACLS, BLS - Highly Preferred.
• Active DEA - Highly Preferred.
