This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care within a collaborative healthcare environment. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional surgical and non-surgical treatment, contribute to patient recovery, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of orthopedic conditions through physical examinations, medical history assessments, and diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, MRI, and CT scans.
- Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate both surgical and non-surgical options tailored to individual patient needs.
- Perform a wide spectrum of orthopedic surgical procedures, including joint replacements, fracture repairs, arthroscopy, and other advanced interventions.
- Provide pre-operative counseling and post-operative care to ensure patient safety, optimal recovery, and satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with primary care providers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage to support the orthopedic service, ensuring continuous patient care availability.
- Maintain meticulous and complete documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, surgical procedures, and outcomes in accordance with clinical standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and care strategies.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in orthopedic surgery through continuing medical education, conferences, and workshops.
- Adhere to ethical standards, professional guidelines, and hospital policies, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
- Utilize proficiency in orthopedic surgical techniques, incorporating the newest innovations and evidence-based practices.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Valid medical license to practice in Vermont.
- Current CPR certification.
- Demonstrated excellence in diagnostic and problem-solving skills within orthopedic practice.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster positive patient relationships and effective teamwork.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, patient safety, and quality care.
- Dedication to ongoing professional development and staying informed of emerging trends and research in orthopedic surgery.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must be able to commute within an hour of the practice location.
- No visa sponsorship is available.
- Not open to locum or locum-to-perm candidates.
- Candidates planning to work this role in conjunction with another position are not eligible.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Pay Rate: $19.50
- Annualized Salary Range: $300,000 to $360,000, compliant with Vermont Act 155.
