Locum - Surgery: Cardiothoracic - MD/DO

Job Opportunity: Locum Physician - Cardiothoracic Surgery in Lansing, MI

Sparrow Lansing Main Hospital is seeking a dedicated Physician to join their Cardiothoracic surgery team. This hospital-based practice offers a supportive environment with a trauma level of I and modern facilities, including 2 dedicated CV surgery ORs. Covering nights and weekends, the selected candidate will provide high-quality care to an adult patient population.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide night call and weekend coverage, preferred schedule from Friday evening to Monday morning.
• Perform adult cardiac and general thoracic surgeries including CABG, heart valve repair/replacement, and other complex procedures.
• Ensure comprehensive patient care during surgical procedures and assess patient needs post-operation.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records using the Epic EMR system.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary medical team.
• Participate in additional call coverage as required, approximately once a month.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Active Michigan medical license (or willingness to obtain).
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
• Clean malpractice and license history is highly preferred.
• Ability to provide a copy of NPDB self-query, pulled within the last 30 days.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery - [REQUIRED]
