Permanent General Surgery Physician needed in Brattleboro, Vermont!

General Surgeon Opportunity – Brattleboro, Vermont

Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Surgeon to join a collaborative surgical team in a community hospital setting. This position provides comprehensive surgical services across inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and wound care settings.

Position Details:

• Provide broad-spectrum general surgery care in hospital and clinic environments

• Perform common procedures including hernia repair, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, endoscopy, colorectal procedures, small bowel obstruction management, and skin/soft tissue surgeries

• Evaluate and treat acute and chronic wounds within a multidisciplinary Wound Clinic

• Collaborate with anesthesiology, CRNAs, physician assistants, perioperative teams, emergency department clinicians, hospitalists, and wound care specialists

• Educate patients and families on surgical care, risks, benefits, and post-operative recovery

• Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing professional development

• Provide surgical consultation for palliative care, pain management, and end-of-life planning

Requirements:

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school

• Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery

• Active Vermont medical license

• Active DEA (required prior to start)

• CPR certification for Healthcare Providers

• Demonstrated proficiency in general surgical procedures

• Clean malpractice history

• Current NPDB Self-Query report dated within 30 days of presentation
