Coverage Needed:
- Start Date: May 2026
- End Date: Ongoing
- Schedule: 7 days in a row of coverage, up to 21 days per month
- Day Shift: 7AM - 5PM with night backup calls
- Night Shift: 5PM - 7AM (next day) with day backup calls
Clinical Details:
- Outpatient and inpatient
- Trauma Level: 2
- Pediatric Level: 2
- ICU Types: MSIC, CVIU, CICU
- EMR: Cerner
- Support Staff: 3 RNs, 3 APPs, 2 office staff
- Day: two surgeons and two APPs; One surgeon and APP cover ICU and trauma, the other surgeon and APP cover floors and emergency general surgery
- Night: one surgeon and one APP, who cover the whole service
- Patient Encounters Per Shift: 10-20
- Beds in Department: 25
- Rounding Patients: Assigned and Unassigned
- Clinic is Tuesday and Thursday: primarily covered by APPs, with the surgeon seeing a few patients designated as "MD only"
- these are patients with ongoing wounds or need for future surgeries (eg, interval appendectomies, cholecystostomy tubes needing future cholecystectomy)
Requirements:
- Board Certified in General Surgery and Critical Care
- Fellowship in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care required
- Active IN License, CSR, and DEA
- Clean NPDB and Malpractice background
- ATLS
