Position Overview
One of our Partners in Minnesota is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiovascular Surgeon to provide locum tenens coverage for its established, high-volume cardiac surgery program. This assignment offers predictable weekday OR coverage, a structured 1-in-3 call rotation, and Top 5–10% national provider compensation based on 2026 locum benchmarks.
Pay Ranking: Top 5–10% nationally (provider pay only, 2026 data)

Job Responsibilities

Perform adult cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgical procedures
-
Provide weekday operative coverage and inpatient rounding

Participate in overnight and weekend call during assigned call weeks

Support structural heart cases and standby coverage

Collaborate with cardiology, anesthesia, perfusion, and ICU teams
Skills & Experience
-
Board Certified in Cardiothoracic / Cardiovascular Surgery

Strong CABG and valve experience required

Comfortable with aortic pathology and structural heart exposure

Flexibility across cardiac and vascular procedures preferred

Active Minnesota license or IMLC required
Coverage Schedule
Standard Schedule
-
Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour days)

1 in 3 call rotation
Call Structure (during call weeks)

Night call: 12-hour blocks
-
Weekend: 24-hour call coverage
