Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Surgery Physician to provide comprehensive general surgery coverage, including operating room and clinic responsibilities. This role involves performing both upper and lower gastrointestinal procedures, with an emphasis on scopes, and managing a diverse patient caseload. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in reestablishing our surgical program, ensuring quality care, and maintaining operational excellence. The position requires availability for scheduled hours, primarily Monday through Friday, with a minimum commitment of two weeks per month.

Required Skills:
- Board certification in General Surgery
- Active license to practice surgery in the State of Oregon
- DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances
- Proficiency in performing upper and lower GI endoscopies, including scopes
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage surgical cases efficiently
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to adapt to a recovering and expanding surgical volume
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous experience reestablishing or developing surgical programs
- Experience in outpatient clinic management
- Ability to support multi-disciplinary collaboration
- Bilingual language skills in English and Spanish
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Minimum of 3 years' post-residency surgical experience
- Prior involvement in outpatient and inpatient surgical care settings
Other Requirements:
- Current OR-specific surgical license, DEA registration, and applicable certifications
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight if needed for program development or coverage
- Privileging process completion within approximately 60 days
