TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon to provide locum call coverage at a hospital in Ahoskie, North Carolina. This is an inpatient-only, low-volume opportunity with no requirement to remain on-site while on call.
Position Details

Coverage Needed
Call: April 25, 2026 @ 7:00 AM – April 27, 2026 @ 5:00 PM
New providers must arrive the day before the first shift or the morning of the first shift for orientation.
Volume & Responsibilities
Average patients/day: 7–8
Average admissions/day: 1–2
Average admissions/night: 1–2
Approx. 50 surgical cases/month
Does not respond to codes
Does not serve as ER backup
Required Procedures Include:
Appendectomy
Strangulated hernia repair
Cholecystectomy
I&Ds
Emergency general surgery procedures
Facility Highlights
114-bed hospital
Low-volume ED (15 beds)
10-bed ICU
~21,000 patients annually
24-hour rotational call model
Air & Ground transfer support available
