Job description
Saint Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, IL, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join our growing surgical team! This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established hospital known for its commitment to compassionate care, clinical excellence, and community service.
Position Highlights
- Will be employed by Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group.
- Full-time | Dayshift Schedule | Mon-Fri, 8 am-5pm
- Will provide a full range of general surgical services (including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency procedures)
- Bread and butter general surgery operations along with acute care surgery.
- Current services provided include a broad range of elective general surgery, endoscopy, as well as urgent surgery.
- In-house call not required (60 minute response time).
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and support staff.
- We seek a full-time general surgeon with an interest in becoming a partner in a suburban practice.
- Should be interested working with and teaching surgery residents and medical students.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery (ABMS or AOA).
- Current and unrestricted Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- Current DEA registration.
- Excellent interpersonal, clinical, and communication skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $430,000-450,000 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
