Job description We are seeking a board-certified Trauma Surgeon for a locum tenens assignment in North Carolina, starting Jan 5, 2026, with a 36-day contract. This opportunity offers a flexible schedule of 5 to 10 shifts per month, covering 12-hour day and night shifts. The ideal candidate will have advanced trauma life support skills and demonstrated proficiency with tube thoracostomy, central venous catheter placement, and preferably arterial line placement. Experience with Cerner EMR is required.

  • Provider Type Needed: Trauma Surgeon
  • Schedule: 5-10 shifts per month; 12-hour shifts (7am-5:30pm, 5:30pm-7am)

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide advanced trauma life support for a variety of trauma cases
  • Perform tube thoracostomy and central venous catheter placement (arterial line placement preferred)
  • Deliver care in accordance with current surgical and trauma protocols
  • Utilize Cerner EMR for patient documentation
  • Collaborate with the trauma team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes

Additional Information
  • Board certification in Surgery required
  • Active North Carolina medical license required
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and DEA certification required
  • No new graduates will be considered
