Orthopedic Surgeon - Locum Opportunity in Tacoma, WA
Summary: Experience the vibrant community of Tacoma, Washington, as you join a dynamic healthcare facility looking for a dedicated Orthopedic Surgeon. Covering two weeks per month at a Level II Trauma center, this opportunity is ideal for a skilled professional seeking to make a substantial impact in patient care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive orthopedic care, covering the ER 24/7 with dedicated PA support.
- Conduct outpatient clinic sessions, with three mornings allocated each week.
- Handle a full spectrum of orthopedic cases, excluding complex pelvic issues.
- Utilize EPIC for electronic medical records.
- Work effectively within a team supported by hospital staff and medical assistants in the outpatient setting.
- Coordinate patient admissions and manage up to 7 cases per day as needs arise.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified Physician in Orthopedic Surgery [REQUIRED]
- Fellowship trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon [REQUIRED]
- State License in Washington [HIGHLY PREFERRED], or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) with letter of qualification in hand
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and DEA certifications [REQUIRED]; candidates willing to obtain certifications post-offer may be considered
- Clean malpractice history [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
- Availability at the time of name clear [REQUIRED]
License and Certification Requirements:
- Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery
- Washington State License or IMLC
- BLS and DEA certifications
