Job description
We are seeking an experienced Trauma/Acute Care Surgery (ACS) Surgeon to join our teaching faculty at a Level III Academic Trauma Center near Palm Springs, California. Teach in a well-established surgery residency program, while enjoying a flexible schedule of 9 shifts per month, competitive pay, and travel coverage.
Position Details:
Academic community teaching hospital
- Shift Schedule: 9 shifts per month
- Shift Type: 24-hour shifts (call and surgical coverage)
- Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center
- Compensation: TBD
- Teaching Stipend
Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency trauma and acute care surgical services
- Perform surgical procedures and manage operative and non-operative patients
- Collaborate closely with trauma, emergency medicine, and hospitalist teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Participate in consultations, admissions, and inpatient rounding
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system
Requirements:
- Board Certified in General Surgery
- Surgical Critical Care certification a plus
- Active California Medical License
- BLS & ACLS Certification – required
- Previous experience in a trauma or acute care surgery setting preferred
